How to Disassemble a Glock 17 Gen 6 Slide

1. Ensure the firearm is unloaded and remove the magazine.
2. Pull the slide slightly rearward and depress both takedown levers.
3. Release the slide forward and lift it off the frame.
4. Remove the single captive recoil spring assembly.
5. Lift the barrel out of the slide.

Now the slide is ready for cleaning, inspection, or maintenance.

How to Install a Glock Slide

1. Insert the barrel into the slide.
2. Seat the recoil spring assembly against the barrel lug.
3. Align the slide on the frame rails.
