Product Description | Specs for Glock 17 Gen 6 OEM Slide
Glock machines this slide from high-strength steel and applies a durable factory finish for long-lasting wear and corrosion resistance. The Gen6 barrel features new chamfering and reengineered geometry, which makes it incompatible with previous generations, and pairs with a single captive recoil spring assembly, mirroring the simpler structure of the Gen 1–3 models.

Compatibility
This slide fits Glock 17 Gen 6 frames only. It is not directly compatible with Gen 3, Gen 4, or Gen 5 frames — you can’t swap a Gen6 barrel into a Gen5 frame or vice versa. However, the Gen6 is compatible with existing Glock magazines across Gen 3, Gen 4, and Gen 5.
Materials & Finish
Constructed from hardened steel and finished with Glock’s durable coating, this slide is built to withstand extended use in duty, competition, and range environments. The direct-mount ORS cutout uses polymer plates designed to compress upon mounting, creating a friction fit that acts as a shock absorber to protect the optic from the harsh forces of the slide cycle.
Customization Options
- Sights: Upgrade to night sights or fiber-optic options; suppressor-height sights recommended for co-witness with an optic
- Finish: Apply Cerakote or custom coatings (may affect warranty)

- Engraving: Professional engraving or customization available
FAQs
Q: Is every Gen 6 slide optic-ready? A: Yes — there is no separate MOS line; all Gen6 pistols ship optics-ready with three polymer mounting plates included.
Q: Will this slide fit my Gen 5 frame? A: No — the Gen6 barrel’s reengineered geometry makes it incompatible with previous generations, and the slide/frame interface is Gen 6-specific.
Q: What’s different internally on the Gen 6 slide? A: Glock reverted to the original single captive recoil spring assembly instead of the dual-spring setup used on Gen 4 and Gen 5.
Q: Can I run a threaded barrel with this slide? A: Not at initial launch — official threaded Gen 6 barrels will be released at a later date, and Gen 5 threaded barrels are not compatible.
Q: Does the complete slide include the optic mounting plates? A: Yes — the complete version ships with three polymer optic plates for direct-mount optic installation.
